Due to the most recent advisories concerning COVID-19, we have had a moment to reflect and to audit our values regarding social responsibility and our ongoing commitment to the community. We have had talks with our stakeholders, partners, and attendees on these matters and we have drawn the conclusion to cancel our sold-out Street Eats Brewery Tour set to be held tomorrow, Saturday, March 14th. Unfortunately, the bus didn’t meet the requirements for social distancing and we feel it’s best to cancel. Please be patient as refunds are being issued through Ticket Rocket.

However, at this time we are still planning to proceed with our remaining smaller-scale Saturday events. Our final sold-out Beer School: Party Like It’s 999(AD) will continue and our Brewmaster’s Brunch at Swans will also proceed as planned. We hope you will join us for one final pint to send off VBW 2020 at Swans tomorrow as tickets are still available.

Thanks to everyone for their understanding.

In response to this afternoon’s announcement from the BC Ministry of Health in regards to the growing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have made the decision to cancel our final flagship Victoria Beer Week events – Lager Than Life and Saturday Night Casks. Both events would approach the 250 person capacity recommendation required to establish necessary social distancing, and we want to make every effort we can to minimize the impacts of this outbreak within our community.

This announcement comes with great sadness for our team and staff, who have been working so hard to bring this series of craft beer events to Victoria, but public health and safety is our top priority. In accordance with this new information, we must do our part to minimize the risk to our attendees, volunteers, staff and the participating breweries, vendors, and sponsors.

We appreciate your patience as we work with Ticket Rocket to issue refunds to Friday’s Lager Than Life event and Saturday’s Cask Night event. Victoria Beer Society members who purchased discounted tickets to Lager Than Life will have their refunds issued within the coming days.

At this time, our remaining smaller events are proceeding as normal.

Thanks for your attention, support and understanding. We encourage everyone to exercise caution as we work together as a community to overcome this outbreak. Keep informed and safe: monitor Healthlink BC’s website (https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/) & the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/) for further updates.
